Silent Scorn - Wrack 'em up one by one

Before we get to the meat of the subject, let's take a look at what inspired me:
Silent Hill!

Right, now I think you get the idea: Blood, grime, rust, shadows, gore...
Now let me show the paint scheme of my army:

It took me A LONG TIME to get this scheme right. A LONG TIME! So much so that I have no idea how long it would take to just do one on its own! Needless to say, that's a lot of effort for something that's worth ten points.

One thing I did realize, if you look at this piece from afar, it looks bad. It's only up close that the details really pop... which might not be a good thing... *grumble*

  1. Thats a really nice piece you painted! The fact that you painted the gore on a light-shaded cloth makes it all the more menancing. One thing comes to mind when I see it ... mental asylum escapee/murderer ... the figure and not the painter ... just so there's no misunderstanding ;) Good job!

  2. Just cut off the head and replace it with a pyramid! Silent Hill FTW! Heather (beam) FTW! Pyramid head FTW! Bubble Head Nurse FTW! (I'm a huge fan)

    1. Man, good to see you're an SH fan as well :D

I was thinking of doing something similar to the nurses - or SH2 mannequins for the Harlequins (geddit? mannequins = harlequins... nvm)

But then again, it is still a DE army, and only inspired by SH, so I'm gonna keep the scheme, but keep the figures GW.

    1. Well, maybe not the Grotesques... I mean Pyramid Head is methodical, whereas Grotesques seem more... lumbersome and wild.

I was thinking of doing something to the Acothysts (unit champion), but I need to source some properly sized pyramids...

Imagine a whole unit of them on the table....wow!!! And to think...we still don't have a fully painted dark eldar(new models) army on the table yet ;)
