Gold up 200pts

Wow, it's been a month and a half since I've updated! Dangit!

Anyway, just to show everyone I've not been (entirely) idle, here's my first Stormraven at 70% completion.

There's just so much to paint!! And adding to that, I do not have an airbrush - even if I had one, GW metallics don't really work well with them.

Hoo... still gotta complete 1 and a half wings and the base, then Stormraven MOIRAE will take flight...

Dannte and his little friend

I hate metals.
Always have.
Metal chips too easily.
Plastic and fine-cast resin doesn't.

I am actually very happy GW went fine-cast. So it is rather sad that I bought the metal Dante two weeks before his fine-cast version entered the shops. Bollocks.

Anyway, purchase regrets aside. You can see I've modified him plenty. Given him jump pack, wings, a new sword (never liked the axe), even a plastic Infernus from the Sanguinary Guard box. He fits nicely with my Sanguinary Guards now.

However, the modifications were more than just for aesthetic reasons. They are for protection. The plastic add-ons serve as a kind of barrier to keep the metal chip-free. Thirty or more games in, and so far only the knuckles on the right hand have chipped. Hurrah!

Lastly, here's Zaphod complete. He was completed ages ago, I just never had a pick up. So here it is.
Now to work on my Storm Ravens...

GOLdone-ish

Not too many updates since last week.

My Sanguinary Guards continue their slow and steady progress. Only left 1 dude and Dannte. Of course, let's not forget the two Storm Ravens...

Anyhoo, here are the rest in stunning technigold.

Libby-rath (WIP)

So. Let me get this straight... you wanna use him as your Librarian?

Yes.

. . . He doesn't look like a Librarian.

Neither does Mephiston, and he's Chief Librarian, mind you.

Yeah, but - your model - there's no psychic hood!

He does too. His hair's just covered all the wires attached on his head.

. . .

Use your imagination.

. . . And his face... ?

That's his death-mask.

That's a face!

No, it's his death-mask.

You just painted his face gold!

That's his death-mask.

Death-masks aren't sculpted in a maniacal scream!

It's the result of a horrible Harlequin psychic attack. Turned the death-mask all wonky.

. . . so what are you gonna use if and when you decide to field Astorath?

Duh... A Librarian.

Casualties of War Paints

It took on half an Eldar army. Their black, blues and whites did little to dent its fervour.

Then a full Tyranid force descended upon it. From humongous monsters to lowly hordes, it took them all on, and finished them in good time. Yet their numbers certainly took a toll, and while it showed no ill constitution, its will was corroding within.

Then came the Sanguinary Guards. Their armour and spears had at it, and its blunt fortitude could take no more. Ultimately their wings became its undoing, shattering its will, and breaking its impossible spirit.

To which I say... "DAMNIT!"
